Studio
A creative portfolio is judged in about four seconds, and it is judged on the work rather than the writing. This one gives every project the full width of the screen and organises the page as numbered chapters so a busy reader always knows where they are.

The brief
A creative portfolio is judged in about four seconds and it is judged on the work, not the writing. The build is mostly a set of decisions about getting out of the way.
Work first, commentary second
Every project gets the full width of the screen, and the explanation sits underneath it for whoever wants it. A description above an image is asking to be read by somebody who has not decided to care yet.
Numbered chapters, so nobody gets lost
The page is organised as numbered sections rather than one continuous scroll. On a long portfolio a reader needs to know where they are and how much is left, or they leave at the point they stop being able to tell.
Social proof at the point of doubt
Testimonials sit where a visitor starts wondering whether this person is reliable rather than talented, which is later than most sites assume and after the work has already landed.
Light and dark, both designed
Both themes were laid out properly rather than one being an inverted afterthought, because a portfolio is opened at midnight as often as at midday.
